Indie Labels Finding Talent

I suspect, having listened to lots of indie rock that no one will hear or care about, that labels simply cannot find good enough talent. These albums I've been listening to have two or three good songs, and a bunch of stuff that I just can't care about. Labels must look around for solid material, and discover that none of these bands in any given place have more than a few good songs. The label, of course, must put records out, so they go with those bands. Better artists just aren't getting any public exposure (maybe they can't do live shows.)

Gee, that's almost inspiring.
