Grapefruit, August 16th, 2008

Brand: Eco-Farms
Variety: "Star"
Growth location: California
Bought in: organic store in Mount Pleasant, Michigan

I picked the second-ugliest in the store, and boy, the reputation of ugly grapefruits to be the tastiest was upheld. This was the best grapefruit I've had in a long, long time.

Red, juicy, and entirely uninterested in the concept of slices, this mass of fruit shocked me with its copious sweet, tart, and citrus flavors. It was like a turbo grapefruit; I had almost forgotten that a grapefruit could contain such intense quantities of sweetness and citrus flavor while still offering plenty of sourness. What a winning grapefruit. I want more.

Grade: A

Great Grapefruit Journalism! You describe the experience and taste with such sensuous detail. Both appealing -- and a-peeling !
